Annual IALD International Lighting Design Winners

Annual IALD International Lighting Design Award competition In the 25th , 14 winners - representing projects from six countries - took home awards. They won from a field of 160 entries, more than ever before.

Of the 14 projects recognized, two entries earned Special Citations, four earned Awards of Merit and eight earned Awards of Excellence.
The highest point score winner across all categories, in addition to receiving an Award of Excellence for their project, receives recognition as The Radiance Award Winner and is acknowledged as the highest achievement in lighting design award honors.

Accepting the Radiance Award for Excellence in Lighting Design was Jonathan Speirs of Speirs & Major Associates for work on the Barajas International Airport in Madrid, Spain.

This year, one project was formally recognized within the Sustainability category, awarded to Derek Porter Studio for their work on the expansion of the Kansas City Convention Center.
